The Cancer Research Center was the first phase of a research facility development that was to be contiguous to the Indiana University School of Medicine.  The building establishes a research base devoted entirely to cancer research.  Natural finishes, forms, and textures relate to biological inspiration from such sources as plant formations and fish scales while still unifying the building with the surrounding styles of architecture on campus.
